The Government of Punjab on Thursday ordered the transfer and posting of several IAS and PCS officers on administrative grounds, with immediate effect, as part of a routine bureaucratic reshuffle.
According to the orders issued by the Department of Personnel (IAS Branch), the changes involve key administrative positions in Jalandhar, Tarn Taran and the Punjab Secretariat.
Shri Ramvir, IAS
Current Posting:
Secretary, Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board, and Additional Secretary, Information & Public Relations, besides Commissioner, Jalandhar Division.
New Assignment:
Appointed as Administrative Secretary, Information & Public Relations, and Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, Jalandhar.
Shri Kumar Amit, IAS
Current Posting:
Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Punjab, and in addition Administrative Secretary, Tourism & Cultural Affairs and Secretary, Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board.
New Assignment:
Posted as Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Punjab, and in addition Administrative Secretary, Tourism & Cultural Affairs and, Secretary, Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board, in place of Shri Ramvir, IAS.
Shri Surinder Singh, PCS
Current Posting:
Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar.
New Assignment:
Transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Tarn Taran.
Shri Yashpal Sharma, PCS
Current Posting:
Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Punjab, and Chief Manager (Personnel), MARKFED.
New Assignment:
Posted as Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Punjab, and Deputy Director, Tourism & Cultural Affairs, and Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board, besides General Manager, Virasat-e-Khalsa, Anandpur Sahib Foundation.
Immediate Implementation
The government has directed all concerned officers to join their new places of posting immediately. Authorities have also been instructed to make internal arrangements for the smooth disposal of work arising from the transfers.
The order was issued with the approval of the Governor of Punjab and signed by Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha.
Administrative Reorganisation
Officials said the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and improving coordination in key departments, including information and public relations, tourism, rural development, and marketing.
