Lyricist, poet and writer Prasoon Joshi reflected on his long-standing creative association with Amitabh Bachchan during his recent appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, where he joined singer Sunidhi Chauhan.
Joshi and Bachchan have worked together over the years on films, brand campaigns and social initiatives. Recalling their association, Joshi said appearing on the iconic quiz show was particularly memorable because of their shared affection for poetry and the Hindi language.
“Being part of this iconic show has been especially memorable for me. Amitabh Bachchan sir and I have had the privilege of working together over many years on films, brand campaigns, and social initiatives, and we have always shared a deep affection for poetry and our Hindi language,” he said.
Joshi said that meeting Bachchan in the familiar setting of Kaun Banega Crorepati nevertheless felt different from their earlier professional interactions.
“But to sit across from him in the world of Kaun Banega Crorepati and share a conversation felt entirely different. Familiar in some ways, yet completely unique and a memory I will carry with me for a long time,” he added.
Reflecting on the show’s format, Joshi said it had made him think about the importance of questions as much as answers. He noted that every contestant brings a distinct set of memories, struggles, dreams and life experiences to the iconic chair.
Drawing a parallel between the questions asked on the show and the challenges encountered in life, Joshi said people ultimately find answers through their individual journeys.
“Aur shayad zindagi bhi kuch aisi hi hai. Sawaal sabke saamne aate hain, lekin jawaab hum apne apne safar se dhoondhte hain,” he said, meaning that life is much the same, with everyone facing questions but finding answers through their own journeys.
Joshi also connected with the season’s theme, ‘Sochna Padega’, saying it underlined the value of pausing and reflecting before reaching a conclusion.
“Perhaps the most interesting moment is when we stop assuming we already know and say, ‘Sochna Padega.’ Because in that moment lies the possibility of another answer, another perspective, another way of seeing,” he said.
Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 airs Monday to Friday on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
