Prakash Gurpurb of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib celebrated at Akal Takht Sahib

Sri Amritsar, June 25, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Prakash Gurpurb (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the father of Miri-Piri (Sikh doctrine of a close relationship between Faith and Politics), was celebrated with devotion by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) with the support of Sangat (devotees) at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on Friday.

On this occasion, Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, general secretary Bhagwant Singh Sialka, and other prominent personalities were present.

After the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, the group of hazuri raagi Bhai Satnam Singh Koharka of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib connected the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan.

During the event, Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh said that the life of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru, is incomparable.

“The sixth Guru fought four wars against the Mughal ruler of the time and won all of them. At that time there was a belief in the minds of the people that no one could defeat this tyrannical Mughal rule, but Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Guru broke this centuries-old notion and preached to fight against tyranny and oppression”, said Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh.

Jathedar congratulated the sangat on the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and encouraged them to follow the teachings of the Guru.

On this occasion SGPC Kuldeep Singh Terha, member of Dharam Prachar Committee Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhayasi, additional secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, head granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Gurmukh Singh, additional head granthi Giani Malkit Singh, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Gurmeet Singh from secretariat Sri Akal Takht Sahib, superintendent Malkit Singh Behrwal, OSD to SGPC president Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur, manager Baghel Singh, Darshan Singh, Jaspal Singh Dhade, Ranjit Singh and the Sangat were present.
