Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught Sub Inspector Mahesh Kumar posted at Julana police station in Jind district for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the ACB said the accused police official has been arrested on the complaint of Malkhan, a resident of village Panju Khurd in Jind district.
Giving further details, he said that the complainant has approached the ACB and alleged that the above said police official has demanded bribe in lieu of releasing his motorcycle used in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case.
The spokesperson informed that after verifying the facts, a team of ACB has laid a trap and the accused police official has been arrested on the spot while taking Rs 10,000 as a bribe from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses. Bribe was taken for releasing the motorcycle.
In this regard, a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused Sub-Inspector at ACB police station Karnal. Further investigation in this case was under progress.
