PM Modi calls on President Kovind, Prez expresses concern over security lapse in Punjab

New Delhi, January 6, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday called on President Ram Nath Kovind in Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

The Prime Minister gave a first-hand account of the security breach in his convoy in Punjab yesterday.

The President expressed his concerns about the serious lapse in the security of Prime Minister.

Prime Minister’s meeting with the President is being viewed as an important development.

It may be recalled that Capt Amarinder Singh, the former Chief Minister of Punjab and now President of his new formed Punjab Lok Congress had yesterday demanded that the Congress government in the state be dismissed and President rule imposed in the state.

Besides Amarinder, several Union Ministers, national leaders of BJP and several CMs of BJP ruled states had also demanded imposition of President’s rule in Punjab.

However, a delegation of state BJP led by Punjab BJP Chief Ashwani Sharma, which met Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, did not ask for imposition of President’s rule in the state and instead sought the dismissal of Home Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyaya.Ram Nath Kovind met Narendra Modi 1
