Er Baldev Singh Kalsi, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), secured the first position in presentation in the category “Agriculture Innovation and Technology,” held during the International Conference on “Recent Advances in Smart and Sustainable Agriculture for Food and Nutritional Security-2023” at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar on November 22 and 23, 2023.
He was awarded for his presentation on topic “Effect of convective, microwave and convective-microwave finishing drying on the quality of Stevia rebaudiana leaves” authored jointly by Baldev Singh Kalsi, Sandhya, and Mohammed Shafiq Alam.
Presently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. research on the “Development of process protocol for the production of powder from stevia (Stevia rebaudiana )” under the guidance of Dr Sandhya, Senior Scientist, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, PAU.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; and Dr Tarsem Chand Mittal, Principal Extension Scientist-cum-Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, congratulated the student for the achievement.
