Innocent Hearts’ five schools (Green Model Town, Loharan, Nurpur Road, Cantt.- Jandiala Road and Kapurthala Road) organized various activities in different classes under the theme ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’, to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav . A ‘Unity in Diversity’ competition was organized for the students of grade Scholars of InnoKids, in which the tiny tots came dressed up in costumes of different states like Bengali, Maharashtrian, Punjabi, Tamilian etc. giving the message of unity in diversity.
They were told about the culture, tradition of the respective states. A ‘Fun with Crayons’ colouring competition was organized for the students of grade Explorers, in which the children participated with great enthusiasm. Children filled the given shape with colors according to their imagination. Children of grades I and II came dressed in the costumes of various freedom fighters and participated in the parade.
A poetry recitation competition was organized for the students of grade III on the theme ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’, in which the children presented their patriotic feelings through poetry. A ‘Plateable Tricolor Dish’ competition was organized for the children of grades IV, in which the children made various dishes depicting the colors of the tricolor. The whole courtyard of Innocent Hearts resounded with the slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
Deputy Director Cultural Affairs Mrs. Sharmila Nakra said that the purpose of such activities is to develop the feeling of patriotism among children. They have to be introduced to the culture and civilization of the country.
