I am extremely disappointed in the partisan statements made by the Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Kultar Singh Sandhwan with regards to the promised welfare schemes of the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Punjab.
The Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha should be above partisan politics. His comments on the delay in the Rs. 1,000 per month to every adult woman in Punjab is more suited to someone who is the spokesperson of the Party rather than one who holds a constitutional position.
Nevertheless, the delay in delivering the key guarantees of the AAP to the people is extremely unfortunate. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as a Member of Parliament had previously stated an empty treasury is a “peepa” not the public exchequer. To use the same excuse today is simply an abrogation of responsibility on the part of the Government.
The Aam Aadmi Party’s promise of “badlav” has so far seen the Aam Admi Party disregard or delay their promises, while mismanaging the economy and security of the State. I fear they will truly leave the Treasury as a “peepa” at the end of their current term.
