The scale of digital engagement reflects not just the passion of fans, but the power of the athletes, the stories, and the cricket they produced. This tournament has ignited a deeper emotional connection with audiences worldwide and accelerated the momentum of women’s cricket in an unprecedented way.

“These results reaffirm our long-term commitment to elevating the women’s game, through stronger events, broader access, greater investment and a digital strategy that brings fans closer to every moment.”

In parallel, the ICC continued to strengthen its commitment to player welfare and integrity of the digital sport ecosystem. As part of its ongoing social media monitoring programme, more than 2.4 million harmful comments were proactively blocked across ICC and player channels during the event, significantly reducing exposure to online abuse and harmful behaviour.

These milestone numbers reflect the accelerating rise of women’s cricket, the deepening connection between players and fans, and the transformative impact of immersive, digital-first storytelling on the global growth of the women’s game.(Agency)

CM Mann launches Easy Registry

Fatehgarh Sahib, November 27, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday launched another revolutionary initiative in form of “Easy Registry” to facilitate the people across the state.

The Chief Minister welcomed all the people who witnessed the beginning of this historic transformation aimed at completely eradicating corruption and ensuring transparent governance.

He said that for decades, property registration has been considered a complicated and time-consuming process often requiring repeated visits to Sub-Registrar offices and facing delays and corruption. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people had to visit the Sub-Registrar office corresponding to the location of their property, which added extra burden and inconvenience.

However, the Chief Minister said that now, with the “Easy Registry” system, property registration in Punjab has entered a new era of simplicity, speed, and transparency.

He said that the “Easy Registry” system will eliminate unnecessary delays and hardships for citizens adding that this is the first time in India that any state has taken such a step toward simplifying property registration.

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that under this initiative, any Sub-Registrar office within a district will be able to register properties located anywhere in that particular district.

The Chief Minister said that Citizens can now draft sale deeds online or through Sewa Kendras by paying a nominal fee of Rs 500 adding that as a part of the “Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” scheme, people can call 1076 to avail this service.

He said that Complete online submission of documents will be possible within just 48 hours adding that Tehsildar will no longer be able to raise unnecessary objections to property registrations. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that fixed time frame of 48 hours will be given for this adding that if any objection is raised, it will immediately be referred to the concerned Deputy Commissioner, who will verify whether the objection is genuine or not.

The Chief Minister further said that Citizens will receive updates about every stage of their registration process via WhatsApp and if anyone demands a bribe, a complaint can be lodged directly through WhatsApp.

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it gives him immense pride to share that now Deputy Commissioners will be responsible for ensuring that every property registration is completed smoothly. He said that for this purpose, the Sub-Registrar Office in Mohali has been upgraded with a help desk and a comfortable waiting area.

The Chief Minister said that earlier registration could only be done at the Sub-Registrar office under whose jurisdiction the property was located. He said that people never used to know the status of their registration or any objections raised adding that now WhatsApp notifications will keep them informed at every stage from document submission and approval to payment, objections, and final preparation of papers.

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that 48-hour time frame has been fixed for raising objections or verifying documents adding that this system will also reduce the high costs associated with registering deeds.

The Chief Minister said that Through the “Draft My Deed” feature, anyone can write their own registration documents with the help of a Sewa Kendra or Sewa assistant. He said that there will be no need to display separate transaction proofs, thus saving citizens multiple visits to banks. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people will no longer need to visit government offices repeatedly to collect their registration papers.

The Chief Minister said that once the registration is complete, they will receive confirmation through WhatsApp, ensuring they can collect their deed in a single visit. He said that the state government is continuously working to bring more citizen-friendly reforms and to improve the efficiency of Sewa Kendras and Helpline 1076, so citizens do not have to visit offices unnecessarily for their work.

Bhagwant Singh said that this historic milestone in administrative reforms is aimed at facilitating the people in a big way so that they can get the services in a smooth and hassle free manner.

New Delhi, Nov 27, 2025
The US Embassy in India on Thursday thanked Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after it dismantled an illegal call centre targeting US nationals and arrested a key operative in the transnational cybercrime network.

The Embassy stated that agencies of India and the US are working together to dismantle international networks to stop future scams and keep the citizens safe.

“India’s Central Bureau of Investigation has dismantled an illegal call centre targeting US nationals and arrested a key operative in the transnational cybercrime network. Through coordinated intelligence and decisive action, our agencies are working together to dismantle international networks to prevent future scams and keep our citizens safe. Thank you for your continued support CBI,” the US Embassy in India posted on X.

Earlier this week, the CBI said that it has arrested Vikas Kumar Nimar, a key absconding accused allegedly involved in running a sprawling network of illegal call centres targeting foreign nationals, particularly citizens of the US.

Nimar was apprehended from his residence in Lucknow on November 20, 2025, following a warrant issued by the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pune.

The CBI had registered the case on September 24, 2024, and subsequently launched extensive search operations across multiple states.

During coordinated raids conducted in September 2024, the agency busted and dismantled four illegal call centres being operated from Pune, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.

“One key operative, Vikas Kumar Nimar, who was instrumental in establishing and operating the illegal call centres VC Infrometrix Pvt. Ltd at Pune and Visakhapatnam, was absconding since the date of registration of the case,” the CBI said.

These centres, according to investigators, were part of a sophisticated cybercrime syndicate designed to defraud US nationals through deceptive calls and online schemes.

Upon detaining the accused at his Lucknow residence, CBI officials recovered Rs 14 lakh in cash, multiple mobile phones and several incriminating documents believed to be linked to the cybercrime operations.

“During the search operations, CBI busted another illegal call centre being operated by the accused Vikas Kumar Nimar in Lucknow targeting US nationals and dismantled the same,” the CBI said.

“Search at the said illegal call centre led to recovery of 52 laptops containing incriminating digital evidence, being used by the accused persons in operation of the said cyber-crime network,” it added.

The agency further said that the investigation of the case is continuing.(Agency)

Entire produce of pulses will be procured on MSP, Union Minister Chouhan assures Punjab farmers

Shivraj-Singh-Chouhan-at

Moga (Punjab), Nov 27, 2025
Assuring farmers that the entire produce of pulses — tur, urad, lentils and gram — will be procured at the minimum support price (MSP), Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Thursday, congratulated the Ransingh Kalan panchayat in Punjab’s district for not burning stubble, managing crop residue, using less chemical fertilisers, and practicing water-efficient farming.

Calling it an inspiring role model for the entire country, Union Minister Chouhan said that pollution in the national capital is continuously increasing, with air quality at a severe level.

“Smoke from stubble burning is also a major contributor to pollution in northern India. In this context, the non-stubble burning initiative in Ransingh Kalan is being seen as a positive catalyst for change,” he said during his visit to the village where he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from local villagers.

At the residence of the sarpanch, the Union Minister sat on a traditional charpai and enjoyed a Punjabi meal comprising ‘sarson da saag’, ‘makki di roti’ and a glass of ‘lassi’.

During an interaction with stakeholders on stubble management, Union Minister Chouhan said stubble burning had caused concern throughout the country as it destroyed friendly insects and caused severe air pollution.

This year stubble burning incidents in Punjab have significantly decreased and villages like Ransingh Kalan have set an example that through scientific management that it is possible to clear fields of residue and prepare for the next crop without burning it, he added.

Union Minister Chouhan said that farmers in Ransingh Kalan have not been burning stubble for the past six years, but using techniques like direct seeding and happy seeding, incorporating crop residue into the field.

“This is increasing soil carbon and organic matter, reducing the consumption of chemical fertilisers, and not negatively impacting production.”

He congratulated sarpanch Preet Inderpal Singh and the entire village, saying this “village is sending a message to areas across the country that still burn stubble… by using the residue as fertiliser and mulching, good yields can be achieved while saving water, diesel, and fertiliser”.

Standing in the field with farmer Gopal Singh, Union Minister Chouhan inspected the direct-seeded wheat crop and explained the scientific aspects of germination, crown root, and irrigation needs in simple terms.

He said that no additional irrigation was required in the early stages of the crop until the crown root developed, and the crop remained healthy even after a month without irrigation, resulting in significant savings in water and diesel.

He also highlighted farmers are now using less diammoninum phosphate (DAP) and urea than they used to, while there is no fear of a decrease in production as mulching the stubble suppresses weeds, maintains soil moisture, and protects friendly organisms.

During the interaction, the Union Minister said that mixing stubble into the field instead of burning it provides natural mulching, which regulates soil temperature, conserves moisture, and reduces weed growth.

“This reduces farmers’ expenses on weeding, irrigation, and chemical fertilisers, and improves soil organic carbon levels, increasing yield stability.”

The Union Minister, who was on the last day of his two-day state visit, said this experiment in Punjab clearly demonstrates that protecting the environment and increasing farmers’ income can go hand in hand, provided scientific methods are adopted conscientiously at the farm level and the panchayat and the community play an active role.

Citing suggestions from villagers, including farmer Gurpreet, he said that by adopting oilseed crops like mustard farmers can not only increase their income but also contribute to freeing the country from dependence on edible oil imports.

Union Minister added that even today the country has to import large quantities of edible oil from abroad, which drains precious foreign exchange.

“However, if oilseeds are grown in a portion of agriculture, national needs can be met through domestic production.”

Giving a big assurance to the farmers, Union Minister Chouhan acknowledged that it is a perfectly reasonable expectation for farmers to increase production of tur, urad, lentils and gram pulses if they receive fair prices.

“Therefore, the government will fully guarantee MSP purchases of these crops,” he said.

He added that the increased pulse production will strengthen the country’s protein security, stabilise pulse prices, and reduce dependence on imports, benefiting both farmers and consumers.

Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, who accompanied Union Minister Chouhan, said that stubble burning is a genuine concern for farmers, but practical and farmer-friendly solutions could convert the challenge into an economic advantage.

He favoured continuous engagement with the farmers to arrive at long-term solutions.(Agency)
