Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday termed the budget for the financial year 2025-26 presented by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema as the biggest budget ever in the history of Punjab and said that no new taxes have been imposed in it.
After the budget was presented, the Chief Minister made the following claims in a message posted on social media platform X.
The budget of ₹2,36,080 crore for the financial year 2025-26 presented in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha is Punjab’s biggest budget ever.
Due to the failures of the previous governments, Punjab was once tagged as ‘Udta Punjab’..’Parivarwaad Wala Punjab’..’Kangla Punjab’. Our government is continuously trying to make Punjab known to the world as ‘Rangla Punjab’, ‘Healthy Punjab’, ‘Laughing Punjab’.
For the fourth consecutive year, the government of the common people has not imposed any new tax on the people.
With the funds allocated for health, education, employment, farmers, industry as well as for the development of rural and urban areas, the picture of Punjab changing Punjab in the true sense will be seen. All the officers and officials of the Finance Ministry, including the Finance Minister, deserve congratulations for making another pro-people budget.
