The Department of Physics at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, celebrated National Science Day 2025 with great enthusiasm, focusing on the theme “Empowering Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”
The event aimed to emphasize the significant role of youth in driving scientific innovation and contributing to India’s progress as a developed nation. The celebrations witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and staff.
The event was generously sponsored by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), which provided a grant of ₹20,000 for the occasion.
A series of engaging competitions were organized to inspire creativity and scientific thinking among students, offering a platform for them to display their talent and innovation:

Dr. Gagan Gupta, the Program Coordinator, delivered an inspiring talk on the theme, stressing the critical need to empower youth to lead in science and innovation, aligning with the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
The event was spearheaded by Dr. Veena Sharma, In-charge of the Department of Physics, whose leadership ensured the program’s success. The organizing team comprised Dr. Amit Singla, Dr. Supriya Rani, Dr. Harjot Kaur, Dr. Avtar Singh, Miss Dipali Garg, and Mr. Randeep Singh, who worked tirelessly to manage the activities. Special contributions from Mr. Jaswinder Singh, Mr. Rahul Menon, Dr. Satnam Singh, Dr. Supriya Rani, and Dr. Harjot Kaur were instrumental in the event’s smooth execution.
The Vice-Chancellor of MRSPTU, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kansal, congratulated the Department of Physics for organizing a successful and impactful event. He commended the students and faculty for their enthusiasm and underlined the importance of fostering a scientific temperament and a culture of innovation among the youth.
