MRSPTU 9th Inter-Zonal Youth Festival ‘Hasda Nachda Punjab’ Begins

The 9th Inter-Zonal Youth Festival, “Hasda Nachda Punjab”, commenced with grandeur at Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology (BFCET) on Tuesday showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.

The Festival organized under the aegis of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 500 students from 25 affiliated colleges.

The festival began with a traditional welcome for the dignitaries, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony and the singing of the university anthem. The campus resonated with excitement as students, faculty, and guests gathered to celebrate youth and culture.

Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kansal, Vice-Chancellor of MRSPTU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the festival with an inspiring speech. Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) Chairman S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal and BFGI Campus Director Dr. M.P. Poonia extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and dignitaries.

In his address, Dr. Kansal emphasized the transformative power of education and innovation, urging students to seize opportunities and contribute to society.

“Youth is the beacon of hope for a brighter tomorrow. Events like this not only showcase talent but also build character, teamwork, and leadership qualities. Remember, every challenge is an opportunity, and every performance here is a step towards personal growth,” said Dr. Kansal.

Prof. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot, Director of Sports and Welfare, MRSPTU, presented the annual report of the Youth Welfare Department, outlining the department’s achievements and its vision for fostering creativity and unity among students.

The inaugural day featured a vibrant lineup of events, including:

Dance: Giddha, Duet Dance, and Hindi Solo Dance

Theatre: Mimicry and One-Act Plays

Artistic Contests: Painting, Mehndi, Clay Modeling, Cartooning, and On-the-Spot Photography

Literary Events: Creative Writing (Essay and Short Story)

Musical Competitions: Folk Orchestra, Light Vocal (Indian), Folk Instrumental Solo, and Classical Vocal & Instrumental

The performances celebrated Punjab’s cultural richness while providing a platform for students to demonstrate their creative potential.

The festival will continue on November 27 with an array of competitions that promise to leave a lasting impression. “Hasda Nachda Punjab” is not just a youth festival but a testament to the enduring spirit and cultural vibrancy of Punjab, reminding everyone of the power of unity and creativity.
