MP Aujla Reviews Amritsar Bulk Supply Scheme Project

MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla arrived today to review the Amritsar Bulk Supply Scheme project. While seriously examining the project being built in Valla, he appealed to the city residents to cooperate in making this project successful after its construction because the city is their own and the development here is also for them. MP Aujla took detailed information about the project being built near Valla.

He informed that a water treatment plant of 440 million liters per day (MLD) capacity is being built in Valla village to treat the water of Upper Bari Doab Canal (UBDC). A 112 km long transmission line will transport the treated water from the water treatment plant to the overhead service reservoirs (OHSR).

About 88 OHSRs will be built at various places in the city. Water will be supplied to the houses connected to the water supply network from the OHSR. He said that funds have been provided by the World Bank for this project and the city is expected to benefit from this project for 30 years.

MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that it may take 6 months for this project to start but he wants to appeal to the city residents that this is a great project. Guru Nagri is their own and if development work takes place here, then that is also for them. This project will deliver the water used in homes to the people and people should not misuse it.

He said that Guru Sahibs had given the message of Pawan Guru Pani Pita Mata Dhart Mahatt but today man has turned his back on it. For which it is necessary to be aware. Today there is a need to save water and also to eliminate pollution, for which everyone should make efforts.

He said that the underground water is continuously depleting but people are not being careful. That is why make such projects successful so that we can fulfil our duty. During this time, he also asked to sow paddy in May-June so that when it rains, paddy can get water. He said that everyone should understand their duty and show love towards the environment.
