Aam Aadmi Party Punjab’s chief spokesperson, former cabinet minister and MLA, S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, launched a 10-day campaign titled ‘Four Glorious Years with Bhagwant Mann’ in his constituency Ajnala, starting from the international border village Gohnewal.
He addressed impactful rural public meetings in villages Machhiwahla, Sahijada, Pachhia, Abadi Chandigarh, and Nisoke.
Addressing these gatherings, Dhaliwal said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, and the ideological guidance of party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal, the government has provided exemplary, transparent, and accountable governance to the people of Punjab.
This has not only strengthened the foundation of a vibrant Punjab but also ensured welfare for every needy citizen by establishing around 1,000 Aam Aadmi Clinics, new medical colleges, and hospitals, offering facilities ranging from free dialysis to free treatment up to ₹10 lakh—thus leading a healthcare revolution in the country.
He further stated that to curb the daily average of 15 deaths due to road accidents, the government has taken constructive steps by establishing a Road Safety Force.
By deploying it at accident-prone spots, immediate primary medical assistance is being provided to victims at the site itself. He added that Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, during a Rajya Sabha session, appreciated this initiative and acknowledged that it has reduced the road accident death rate in Punjab by 48%.
Dhaliwal claimed that within just four years, the Bhagwant Mann government has achieved significant milestones in overall development, employment generation, fight against drugs, crackdown on gangsters, and restoration of law and order—achievements that Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP governments could not accomplish in 70 years since 1952.
Criticizing the central government, he said that despite the withholding of over ₹8,300 crore of Punjab’s rural development funds, the state government has brought a development revolution in infrastructure. More than 40,000 km of roads have been built, around 9,000 rural sports stadiums established, and an education revolution has been implemented to improve government schools, enabling students to perform well in exams like JEE and NEET.
Taking note of complaints regarding negligence by some village sarpanches in executing development works funded by government grants, Dhaliwal said that strict action will be taken against those failing in their responsibilities.
If required, their constitutional powers will be revoked and administrators will be appointed in those panchayats to ensure completion of development work. He emphasized that negligence, carelessness, and corruption in development work will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
On this occasion, Block Samiti Chairman Sarpanch Prithipal Singh Gohnewala, Block In-charge Amrik Singh, Santokh Singh, along with village sarpanches, panches, dignitaries, and party volunteers were present.
