Jalandhar Police sets new benchmark in humane policing, Opens door of Police Hospital for vaccination

Setting another benchmark of humane Policing amidst the ongoing Corona Virus pandemic, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has opened the door of Police Hospital to ensure Covid vaccination even for the civilian residents of the city.

Divulging more details, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who has been valiantly leading the Police force since the break out of this pandemic, said that vaccination in the Police hospital was undergoing for the cops who were the most vulnerable frontier warriors in this war against Covid 19. However, he said that with the surge in cases against pandemic the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, while realizing its responsibility towards people well, have opened the Police hospital for the local residents. Mr. Bhullar said that daily a number of eligible civilians were getting themselves inoculated at this Police hospital.

The Commissioner of Police, while reiterating the firm commitment of Jalandhar Commissionerate Police to serve the people in this hour of crisis, said that apart from maintaining law and order, the Police was doing all out efforts for giving a healing touch to the people.

He said that till now 3168 people have been vaccinated in the Police hospital out of which 789 were Police personnel, 143 were their family members and 2236 sizeable were the local civilians. Mr. Bhullar said that the Commissionerate Police was at the service of the residents and no stone was being left unturned to ensure that people were given succor in this hour of crisis.

Pertinently, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Gurmeet Singh was the overall incharge of this camp.

It may be recalled that apart from keeping a strict vigil over law and order in the district, the Commissionerate Police had played a stellar role in giving relief to people. Since the inception of pandemic in March last year till now, the Commissionerate Police has distributed 5.73 lakh Packets of dry ration and 44932 Packets of cooked food to the needy and underprivileged persons.

Likewise, on law and order front the Police has lodged 2002 FIRs for violation of curfew/ lockdown norms and recovered nearly Rs 4.50 crore from the violators.

Meanwhile welcoming the initiative of Jalandhar Commissionerate Police Mrs Usha a resident of Ladowali road Jalandhar said that this has helped her a lot to get vaccinated at this place nearby her home. She said that due to old age it was difficult for her to move at some distant place but due to efforts of the Commissionerate Police she had been able to get the jab.

Likewise, Ms Jyotika a resident of Guru Tegh Bahadur nagar also lauded the step taken by the Commissionerate. She said that it was a new milestone aimed at facilitating the residents for getting vaccination thereby enabling them to win war against Covid pandemic.
