Jalandhar Police nabbed 229 persons for violating Curfew since March 23, 392 vehicles impounded: Bhullar

In order to tightening the noose around the violators, the Commissionerate Police have arrested 229 persons for violating the curfew norms from March 23 to till today.

Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the apart from police checking Nakas, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has been launched to keep vigil eye on the violators.

Mr. Bhullar said that subsequently till today, 165 FIRs have been registered in various police stations of the commissionerate police and have issued 3147 challans besides impounded 302 vehicles.

Meanwhile, he said that the curfew has been imposed for the betterment of people so that the spread of Covid 19 could be checked effectively.

The Commissioner of Police said that the action would continue in coming days till the curfew was not lifted.

He said that a viable mechanism has been put in place for the entire security arrangements and sectoral officers from Police have been deployed. He said that every effort would be made to maintain law and order in the city.

The Commissioner of Police categorically said that no one would be allowed to violate the law and stern action would be taken against violators.
