Jalandhar CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar asks officers to be vigilant in wake of upcoming festive season

The Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today directed the officers to deliver their duty more diligently and effectively, in wake of the upcoming festive season, to facilitate the people.

Addressing the officers/officials today in the local Police lines, the Commissioner of Police asked them to increase vigil during the festive season, so that no untoward incident takes place in the city.

He said that PCR/traffic wings have a vital role in the festive season as they have been bestowed a great responsibility and they are expected to discharge their duty with utmost professional dedication and commitment.

Bhullar said that response from the PCR team must be prompt and effective to tackle any sort of untoward incident.

The Commissioner of Police said that the officials must take minimum time to reach at the spot of crime or mishap as soon as they get the information regarding it. He said that this would ensure effective dealing with any sort of crime or incident in the city.

Bhullar also said that in wake of the festivals huge rush would be witnessed on the roads of the city, so the role of traffic wing of the Commissionerate Police has also enhanced manifolds.

The Commissioner of Police said that traffic management in the festive season is a big challenge but the Commissionerate Police would overcome it by meticulous planning and effective execution.

He said due to Dussehra and Diwali, there is likelihood of unrestricted storage, sale, purchase and use of all sort of fireworks, which have the potential to cause serious damage to life, limb and property and asked officials to keep check the manufacturing, storage, sale and purchase of fireworks within their jurisdiction so that necessary steps could be taken well in-time.

He said if there is any abandoned building/house/plat which stores fireworks, would be sole responsibility of their owners in case of any incident.

“We must uphold the glorious tradition of Punjab Police to serve the people with integrity and efficacy so that they can fully enjoy their festivals” added Bhullar.

On the occasion Deputy Commissioners of Police Gurmeet Singh, Balkar Singh, Arun Saini, Naresh Dogra and others were present.
