2019-batch IPS officer Dr Jyoti Yadav Bains on Monday formally assumed charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Bathinda. She was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour by a contingent of the Punjab Police on her arrival.
Prior to her posting in Bathinda, Dr Bains had been serving as SSP Khanna, where she earned appreciation for her effective policing and administrative leadership.
After taking charge, the district police chief held a meeting with senior police officers and emphasised that maintaining law and order at all costs would remain the top priority of the district police.
Addressing the media, SSP Dr Jyoti Yadav Bains said that strict and uncompromising action would be taken against drug traffickers and individuals involved in illegal activities. She asserted that all possible efforts would be made to make Bathinda a drug-free district, adding that the intelligence network would be further strengthened to crack down on organised crime.
Appealing for public cooperation, the SSP said that citizens are the most reliable partners of the police. She urged people to share any information related to drugs or criminal activities without fear, assuring that the identity of informers would be kept strictly confidential.
Dr Bains reiterated that ensuring public safety, peace, and trust is the foremost responsibility of the police, and any lapse in this regard would not be tolerated.
