Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh on Monday laid the foundation stone of Integrated Public Health Laboratory here in the civil hospital premises saying that this ultra-modern laboratory will ensure a health care facility as nearly 80 tests related to health are to be carried out free of cost.
Giving information the Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh stated that the work of IPHL would be completed at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crore besides having hi-tech test machinery. He said there would be seating capacity up to 100 persons with nearly 60 pathology and 20 microbiology tests facilities.
He said once this laboratory becomes operational the tests between 40,000 and 50,000 would be done in a month, which would be immensely beneficial for the people of the region.
Referring to a media query, Dr. Ravjot Singh reiterated that the Punjab Government was fully committed to further provide better and quality healthcare services to the people across the state as well as resolving the issue of shortage of staff by recruiting the requisite doctors, para medical and laboratory staff.
He said the State Government would hand over appointment letters to 24 house surgeons and empanelled doctors on Tuesday for Hoshiarpur at local Civil Surgeon office to further deliver quality healthcare services in the district.
On being asked about the proposed medical college at Hoshiarpur, MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa said that the tender process had already been completed while the construction on this project would be started shortly.
He said that the Punjab Government was fully committed to accomplish the project by 2027. He also informed that the construction of the Critical Care Unit at local Civil Hospital will also start very soon.
LOCAL BODIES POLLS, ENTIRE PROCESS TO BE COMPLETED IN DECEMBER: Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh answering a query said that the people of Punjab put stamp of approval on the development oriented policies, programmes and functioning of Aam Aadmi Party’s Government during the recent vidhan sabha bypoll. He said that the entire process of local bodies elections would be completed in December.
