With the promise of maximum facilitation to its students, I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) singed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Golden City Entrepreneur Society (Amritsar Founders). This MoU will help University to start an Incubation Centre by solving major industrial challenges prevailing in the city Amritsar to create a better ecosystem for business and start-up programs. It will be a collaborative effort.
Golden City Entrepreneur Society is a leading industrial association of Amritsar start-up companies. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims at providing skills training to students of IKG-PTU. Its mission is to enable students to better understand and enhance their job-related skills. Under this MoU, students will be given Industrial projects as a part of curriculum. Industrial visits & Expert talks will also be organized.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor said that this partnership will be mutually beneficial for the two eminent organizations having complementary expertise.
He further said that this collaboration is oriented towards bringing about qualitative improvements in job related skills of students. He said that Members of Amritsar Founders will also contribute in developing course curriculum considering the AICTE guidelines & latest industry requirements.
Mr. Raghav Khanna, Chairman, Amritsar Founders said that the mission with the “Industry Academic Collaboration” is to build a platform for the young scholars where they can learn, enhance and work their skill in a real-world scenario. He said that 22 start-ups/Industries are a part of Amritsar Founders. They will also hire IKGPTU students on stipend-based internships & employment in the field of IT, Civil, Tourism & Management.
Mr. Rishabh Mahajan, Director Amritsar Founders, Mr. Namit Kapoor, Vice Chairman Amritsar Founders, Dr. Amit Sarin, In-charge, IKG PTU Campus Amritsar, Dr. Satvir Singh, Dean (P&EP), Dr. Hitesh Sharma (AP), Er. Navdeepak Sandhu, Deputy Director (CR&A) & Dr. Mrigender Bedi, Assistant Director (CR&A) were present during the MoU signing ceremony.
