In a major break-through, Haryana Police has nabbed a criminal who was on the most-wanted list of Delhi Police from Sonipat district. A country-made pistol and six live-cartridges also recovered from his possession.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that arrested accused was identified as Monu, a resident of Lalheri, district Sonipat. The arrested accused was absconding after a deadly attack on Delhi Police team in year 2019. Delhi Police has also announced a bounty of Rs50,000 on his arrest.
During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that a total of 18 cases pertaining to murder, attempt to murder, loot, dacoity, kidnapping and under relevant sections of Arms Act were registered against him in different Police stations. He was arrested by a Police team following secret information from near Anil Vihar in Sonipat.
Narrating about the crackdown, he said that Police team got a tip off that a most-wanted criminal alongwith illegal weapons was roaming near Anil Vihar with an intention to commit another crime. Acting swiftly, Police party immediately swung in to action and nabbed him.
A case under Arms Act has been registered against him at City Police Station Sonipat. He was taken on Police remand by producing in the Court. Further investigation is underway.
