Haryana Police issues Traffic Advisory ahead of Farmers’ March to Delhi on Feb 13

In response to the planned march to Delhi by farmer organizations on February 13, Haryana Police has issued a traffic advisory for the convenience and safety of the public. The advisory urges individuals to limit travel on the main roads of the state to urgent situations on February 13, anticipating potential traffic disruptions on major routes from Haryana to Punjab.

The general public is appealed to travel to Punjab only in urgent circumstances. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Mamta Singh, advised checking the current traffic situation by following Haryana Police’s social media platforms: Twitter – @police_haryana, @DGPHaryana, and Facebook – Haryana Police.

In the event of traffic disruptions on NH-44 Delhi-Chandigarh Highway, passengers traveling from Chandigarh to Delhi are advised to take alternative routes via Derabassi, Barwala/Ramgarh, Saha, Shahbad, Kurukshetra, or through Panchkula, NH-344 Yamunanagar Indri/Pipli, Karnal. Similarly, passengers traveling from Delhi to Chandigarh are encouraged to reach their destination via Karnal, Indri/Pipli, Yamunanagar, Panchkula, or Kurukshetra, Shahbad, Saha, Barwala, Ramgarh.

In case of any discomfort, people are urged to contact dial-112. The police have made elaborate arrangements to maintain peace, prevent violence, and facilitate the smooth operation of traffic and public transport. Guidelines have been issued to all range ADGPs/IGPs, Police Commissioners, and SPs of the districts to minimize inconvenience to the general public and ensure the smooth functioning of law and order.

Preparations have been made to temporarily change traffic routes in affected districts, especially Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Fatehabad, Sirsa. Citizens are informed in advance to plan their travel accordingly and avoid inconvenience. The concerned districts are also directed to issue local advisories.

However, traffic movement will remain unaffected on all other routes in the state. The public is appealed to refrain from unnecessary outings during this period, and if possible, avoid traveling. Maintaining law and order is the top priority for the police, and strict action will be taken against those attempting to disrupt it
