Gulzar Group of Institutes organized Workshop on New Education Policy, 2020. The key note speakers for the Seminar were Dr.M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE and Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu vice-chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda.
Dr. Poonia in his keynote address emphasized on the importance and empowerment of teachers and congratulated the entire batch of faculty for their exemplary contribution towards nation building.
He also focused on delivering quality to the students in classroom so as to make them more proficient and skilled to have a better career. He urged faculty members to use innovative teaching pedagogies and appealed everyone to participate in various government programs bring every student a bright future.
Dr.Buta Singh Sidhu expressed his serious concerns regarding the skillset deficiency in youth and showed firm believe that NEP 2020 will definitely bring revolution to the Indian Education sector and immense opportunities for our Indian youth segment. Later, they also inaugurated the state of art Automobile and Mechanical Workshop which aims at providing optimized skills to all its students and scholars.
Gurcharan Singh, Chairman GGI shared his vision for Higher Education in India with a focus on three main elements i.e. Students enrolling in the Higher Education System, Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education and Educational Technology and Online Education. The policy is based on the pillars of access, equity, quality, affordability, accountability and will transform India into a vibrant knowledge hub.
Gurkirat Singh, Executive Director GGI said at the moment that NEP is contributing to an equitable and vibrant knowledge society. It emphasises on revamping curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and student support for enhanced student experiences. NEP 2020 is progressing with an approach of Institutional restructuring and consolidation with an aim to provide equal emphasis on teaching and research.
