Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday conducted a road show in Halka Shahkot in favour of Sushil Kumar Rinku, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election and appealed to the people to make AAP’s candidate win.
During the roadshow, Chief Minister Mann addressed the gathering of people at Shahkot and Mehatpur. While addressing the people, CM Mann attacked the traditional parties Congress-BJP and Akali Dal and said that the governments of these parties ruined both, the youth and the farmers of Punjab.
Instead of giving jobs to the youth of common households, the Congress and Akali government gave jobs to the families and relatives of their leaders and ministers. These people built their own big palaces with the tax money of the people of Punjab and did nothing for the common people.
Mann said that the corrupt leaders of these parties gave guns instead of pens in the hands of the youth and gave drugs instead of jobs. Our government is working day and night to secure the future of the youth of Punjab. We have given government jobs to more than 28000 youths of Punjab within a year and will create more job opportunities in the future.
The Chief Minister said that our government is continuously taking concrete steps to provide good education and good medical services to the people of Punjab. Within just one year of forming the government, we have set up more than 500 mohalla clinics to provide better treatment to the common people of Punjab.
So far, more than 20 lakh people have been treated in these Mohalla clinics and more than five lakh people got their tests done for free. Apart from this, we are also upgrading government hospitals in Punjab. In the coming days, government hospitals in Punjab will have more facilities than private hospitals.
He said that along with saving the youth of Punjab, our government is also paying special attention to saving the farmers. After forming the government, we increased the MSP for sugarcane farmers to the highest in the country at ₹390 per quintal. Apart from this, the compensation to the farmers for loss of crops due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms has been increased to ₹15,000 per acre.
Appealing to the people of Jalandhar to make AAP candidate win, Mann said that in this election you have a chance to create history.. Don’t miss this opportunity. He said that I am sure that the way you gave me love and support in the assembly elections, in the same way you will give your love and support to our candidate Sushil Rinku in this election.
AAP candidate Sushil Rinku and dozens of state level and local leaders of Aam Aadmi Party Punjab and a large number of AAP workers were also present in the road show.
