Ghanshyam Thori visits various residential and commercial sites of ADA under OUVGL Scheme

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Ghanshyam Thori, who has been given additional charge of the Chief Administrator Amritsar Development Authority , on Friday visited various residential and commercial sites in the holy city under the Optimum Utilization of Vacant Government Land (OUVGL) scheme of Punjab Government. The Additional Chief Administrator Lovejeet Kalsi welcomed the Chief Administrator Ghanshyam Thori on his arrival at ADA Office.

Immediate after assuming the charge, Chief Administrator Amritsar Development Authority (ADA) took round of residential and commercial properties including group housing, chunk, SCOs, schools’ sites, shops, plots, booths in Mental Hospital near Trillium Mall, Shri Guru Ram Dass Urban Estate (old Jail site), PUDA Avenue, Commercial pocket at Ranjit Avenue Sector-4, Canal Colony, Irrigation and Milkfed Verka, Civil Hospital Batala and others.

Taking note of pending dues in crores, Ghanshyam Thori also directed to put up the cases of pending dues against licensed and unauthorized colonizers so that these hefty amounts could be got deposited in state exchequer. He was also apprised that in canal colony Amritsar spread over 24.24 acres of land had 86 residential plots of which 76 were sold besides one multiuse site, 54 SCO sites of which 12 had been sold out and a site for petrol pump.

Similarly in Guru Ram Dass Urban Estate (109 acres) had one reserved site for school, 499 residential plots out of which 226 were sold and 273 are lying vacant, 36 SCO sites of which 15 were sold. Likewise Mental Hospital Site (31.58 acre) having one chunk site, 35 SCO sites, 23 booths and 38 residential plots.

In Milk Union Site 31 SCO sites of which 19 were sold, seven shop sites of which five were sold and one multiuse site is lying vacant. PUDA Avenue has 43 shop sites with six lying vacant, 214 residential plots of which 193 were sold and one school site. At Civil Hospital Batala, there were nine SCO sites of which seven were sold out and 27 shop sites with 12 lying vacant, informed the officials to Ghanshyam Thori.

The Chief Administrator also directed them to initiate the process for further auction at suitable sites. The problems being faced by people in PUDA approved sites should also be addressed in a stipulated timeframe, added Thori.

Earlier, Ghanshyam Thori also held a meeting with officials of ADA to review the progress of ongoing and in-pipeline development projects.
