Shiromani Akali Dal president, Sukhbir Singh Badal today said it was condemnable that Rahul Gandhi, whose family had a history of breaking Punjab and discriminating against it, was leading the Bharat Jodo yatra in the state. “ No one has damaged Punjab as much as the Gandhi family”, he said.
Talking to newsmen here, the SAD president said the Gandhi family has a history of breaking India (Bharat Todo). “Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ordered the attack on Sri Darbar Sahib using tanks and motors which led to destruction of Sri Akal Takht Sahib”. He said Rahul’s father Rajiv Gandhi engineered the 1984 genocide of Sikhs and even justified it by saying when a big tree falls the earth shakes.
Asking Rahul to search his conscience, Mr Sukhbir Badal said “the Gandhi family is also responsible for robbing Panjab of it’s river waters and handing them over forcibly to Rajasthan. He said Indira Gandhi also prevailed upon then chief minister Darbara Singh to approve construction of the SYL canal. “All this was done despite the fact that Panjab has an inalienable right over its river waters as per the riparian principal”.
Mr. Badal said it was condemnable that Rahul Gandhi had not apologised till now for the crimes committed by his family against Punjab. He said it was equally shocking that Punjab Congressman were failing in their duties as Punjabis by not questioning Rahul Gandhi on his family’s role in the attack on Sri Darbar Sahib and genocide of Sikhs.
Mr Badal was here to review the preparations for the party’s conference in the city on the occasion of Maghi mela, scheduled for January 14.
Responding to the media query about administrative chaos in the state, he said: The way Bhagwant Mann govt is taking maverick decisions without following procedures is resulting in total collapse of the system. IAS, PCS and even revenue officials are going on mass casual leave. I fear this would finally lead to Civil war situation in the state.
Asked about the government’s performance, the SAD president said this government was of corrupt leaders. Lateefpura (Jalandhar) demolition was done just because an AAP leader had eye on that land, he said, adding that the same way, we have seen in Zira distillery case, the govt is giving protection to the polluting industry just because the AAP leaders have received hefty funds from them.
This government runs from Delhi by Delhi people for what like other instances, even in Advocate General office the candidates being selected for appointment belong to Delhi.
Among others, Kanwarjit Singh Rozy Barkandi, Hardeep Singh Dhillon and Honey Brar Fattanwala were prominent who accompanied Mr Badal.
