Diwali Bonanza for Punjab youth – 1151 appointed on various posts under NHM: Balbir Singh Sidhu

Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab has selected 1151 candidates against various posts under National Health Mission, Punjab. This was stated here today by Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister S. Balbir Singh Sidhu.

He extended greetings to the people of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and urged them to celebrate safe, noise-free & pollution-free Diwali. At the same time, he also urged the farmers, not to burn paddy straw as this leads to serious respiratory ailments (diseases).

He stated that these 1151 candidates included various paramedical & other staff including 518 community health officers, 314 staff nurses, 107 computer operators, 7 specialist doctors, 5 psychiatrists, 88 senior treatment supervisors, 49 TB health visitors, 34 pharmacists and 29 lab technicians.

The test, interview, counseling and other procedures of these appointees have been completed and all the recruitment process has been completed in a fair and transparent manner and on merit. Appointment letters will be handed over to these selected candidates very soon.

S. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that these employees will be posted in various hospitals in Punjab to help in providing better health facilities to the people. He informed that since the year 2017-18 till now, around 3100 medical, paramedical and other staff has been recruited under the National Health Mission, Punjab. Similarly, recruitment process is going on for many other posts.

S. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh, a great priority is being given to education and health sectors in Punjab and hence a large focus is being laid upon these areas.
