To consider ways and means of promulgating peace in the region through the fortification of its ecclesiastical, academic, health, and social outreach programmes, the Diocese of Amritsar (DoA), Church of North India, is organizing the 29th Ordinary Diocesan Council from October 28, 2024, to November 1, 2024.
Themed ‘Confess, Commit, and Comply’ the five-day event would be attended by the diocesan functionaries from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir. The Rt Rev Dr Paul Swarup, Bishop, Diocese of Delhi, CNI, is also expected to participate as he will be leading the morning Bible studies on four days of the diocesan council, as is the renowned Gospel singer Vijay Benedict, who shall be leading the Spiritual Revival.
The Most Rev Dr P K Samantaroy, Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India, said the aim of the 29th Ordinary Diocesan Conference is to strive to discern God’s will for the diocese’s future and prepare an action plan to work for its growth, its contributions to the development of the nation, and spreading peace in the region.
“The diocese is committed to continuing its efforts towards promoting peace in the region besides contributing towards the cause of nation-building through its academic, health, interfaith, and social outreach initiatives even in the years to come,” said Bishop Samantaroy.
