With a view to promoting peace, unity, and brotherhood in the region the Diocese of Amritsar (DoA), Church of North India (CNI) plans to hold a motorcycle rally and a thanksgiving service during the impending Diocesan Foundation Day celebrations.
The two-day event (February 13 and 14, 2025) is likely to feature the participation of more than 3000 members of the diocese from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir.
More than 300 motorcyclists associated with the diocese are expected to participate in the Ride for Peace motorcycle rally that shall be held under the aegis of The Most Rev Dr P K Samantaroy, Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India, on February 13, 2025.
A meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming celebrations was held on Tuesday at the Diocesan Headquarters in Amritsar. “All preparations are in place,” Bishop Samantaroy said. Sharing the details, he revealed the motorcycle rally shall start from St Paul’s Church, Court Road, and pass through the key boulevards of the city to promulgate the message of peace before culminating at Alexandra School, Queen’s Road, Amritsar.
“A Thanksgiving prayer would be organized on February 14, 2025, followed by a celebration of the Indian culture. A presentation of the outreach programmes of the diocese would also be screened on this occasion,” the bishop said.
