Despite huge influx of devotees, cleanliness in Sultanpur Lodhi becomes talking point

Despite influx of devotees in Sultanpur Lodhi, the top-notch cleanliness has become the talking point in the holy city.

Divulging the details, regional deputy director local bodies department Barjinder Singh said that the level of cleanliness on the streets and roads of Sultanpur Lodhi is being compared with that of Kumbh Mela of Alahabaad city.

Punjab Government is receiving huge appreciation for maintaining cleanliness in Holy City Sultanpur Lodhi despite huge rush of pilgrims. He said that there are 73 langars and responsibility of cleanliness in all the langers has been taken up by the Local Government Department.

The comprehensive plan to maintain cleanliness was chalked out by four member committee of the Department of Local Government led by Local Bodies Minister Mr. Brahm Mohindra, Principal Secretary A.Venu Prasad, CEO of PMIDC Ajoy Sharma and Director, Local Government, Punjab Karnesh Sharma.

Being exexutioner of the plan, Regional Deputy Director local bodies Barjinder Singh said that approximately 2500 sanitation employees have been deployed to this task who are working round the clock in three shifts. The senior officials are checking the ground level clealniless 24×7 and sanitation staff is working in three shifts to keep the city spick and span.

The number of pilgrims attending the event has reached millions and it was not possible to take a round to check cleaning and street lights on a motor vehicle as the streets were flooded with such a influx of devotees.

Therefore, the e-cycles are being used by the officers to conduct these inspections in a smooth way. It was because of these efforts that the whole city is shinning with milky light and cleaned roads.
