Deplorable that Rahul Gandhi seeking support of 1984 genocide accused Tytler: Majithia

Chandigarh, May 29, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said it was deplorable that Congress president Rahul Gandhi was soliciting the support of 1984 genocide perpetrator Jagdish Tytler to save his chair as well as continue the rule of the Nehru- Indira Gandhi dynasty over the Congress party.

Commenting on video clips of Jagdish Tytler seen camping outside the residence of the Congress president, former minister and SAD general secretary Bikram Singh Majithia said “everyone has been shaken by this development.

It proves a deep bond exists between the butcher of Delhi and Rahul Gandhi and that the Gandhi family always falls back on the 1984 perpetrators whenever it needs a helping hand.

Now people can understand why Rahul Gandhi has consistently sheltered and protected Jagdish Tytler and also why he has refused to expel him from the Congress party despite vivid testimonies from witnesses that he led Congress goons who killed Sikhs and pillaged their properties in the streets of Delhi”.

Mr Majithia said Rahul Gandhi’s statement that no Congress leader was involved in the 1984 genocide days before another of his father Rahul Gandhi’s buddies Sajjan Kumar was awarded life imprisonment in a massacre case could also be understood in this perspective. “Rahul Gandhi has always kept the 1984 perpetrators close to him.

Recently he even promoted one of them – Kamal Nath as chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. This is the reason why Jagdish Tytler has returned the favour and is now camping outside Gandhi’s residence in a stage managed drive to drum up support for Rahul”.

Stating that appeals by Jagdish Tytler were akin to propagating the callous and inhuman message of ‘jo hua so hua’, the Akali leader said “Rahul Gandhi may shed crocodile tears during election campaigning but the very fact that he has solicited help from the likes of Jagdish Tytler to retain his presidentship proves he remains unrepentant about his family’s role in the targeted killing of Sikhs in Delhi in 1984”.

Mr Majithia said the SAD on its part would not let the conspiracy to rehabilitate the 1984 perpetrators succeed at any cost. “We will protest democratically to keep them out of public life. We will also continue our efforts to seek punishment for all the culprits and will not rest till the role of the Gandhi family in these targeted killings is also uncovered”.
