In its ongoing efforts to serve human beings as per the mission of the Red Cross, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain Inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Civil Hospital Kurali. She also handed over 70 Blankets to the SMO of the Civil Hospital Kurali for the indoor patients.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Jain said that the newly opened pharmacy store would provide generic medicines at 70 to 80 per cent cheap rates as compared to the market. The store will be run by the District Red Cross Society. A qualified pharmacist has been hired who will remain present at the store from 9 to 5.
She said that this Jan Aushadhi Kendra is the third in the district being operated by the District Red Cross Society as a humankind initiative. Earlier, District Hospital Mohali and Civil Hospital Kharar have these Kendras running successfully.
Deputy Commissioner, who also happens to be President of the District Red Cross, Society, further said that apart from that, a mobile testing van has already been started by the District Red Cross Society.
This testing van covers the medical camps being conducted by the District Red Cross Society with the help of the District Hospital medical team. Similarly, an ambulance service has also been launched at reasonable rates that can be hired by dialling 7087087005 and 8427544403.
She said that the District Red Cross Society works as a good Samaritan in the district to facilitate needy people by helping them. Besides, blood donation camps have also been conducted with the help of District Hospital and PGI to arrange the Blood for the needy patients.
Interacting with the media persons, the Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain assured that a public audit of CHC Kurali was done last year and soon it will get an upgrade as the case has been submitted to the Punjab Government.
She also visited the wards and enquired about the wellbeing of the patients and offered blankets for the ward beds.
She was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr Ankita Kansal, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Renu Singh, Tehsildar Kharar Jaswinder Singh, Secretary District Red Cross Harbans Singh, SMO Dr Amit Arora and medical officers Dr Manbir Kaur, Dr Harjinder Kaur, Dr Davinder Gupta, Dr Sahil Kalia, Dr Manuj Sharma and Dr Divyanshu Nadda.
