The Congress party has announced 4 more candidates from Punjab for the Lok Sabha elections.
Ludhiana: Raja Waring
Anandpur Sahib: Vijay Inder Singla
Khadoor Sahib: Kulbir Singh Zira
Gurdaspur: Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa
The Congress party has not yet decided on the Ferozepur seat.
Taking Ludhiana seat a bit more seriously the party has fielded State President Amarinder Singh Raja Waring to take on MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, who left Congress and joined BJP ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. He will also be contesting against Aam Aadmi Party MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi and Shiromani Akali Dal’s Ranjit Singh Dhillon.
Congress has given a ticket to former Cabinet Minister Vijay Inder Singla for Sri Anandpur Sahib. Manish Tiwari was earlier a member of Parliament from this constituency but this time he is contesting from Chandigarh.
Kulbir Singh Zira has been made a candidate from Panthic seat Khadoor Sahib. Congress MLA Rana Gurjit Singh and his son and Independent MLA Rana Inder Pratap Singh were also contenders from here.
From Gurdaspur, the party has announced former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa as its candidate. He will compete against BJP’s Dinesh Babbu, AAP’s Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi and Akali Dal’s Dr Daljit Singh Cheema.
