Actor Cezanne Khan has marked 25 years of the television drama Kasautii Zindagii Kay by sharing nostalgic stills from the original series, featuring his co-star Shweta Tiwari.
The actor celebrated the show’s silver jubilee on Thursday with a collage of scenes from the popular Star Plus drama, in which he played Anurag Basu and Tiwari portrayed Prerna Sharma.
“It’s a silver jubilee,” Cezanne wrote in his social media post, adding hashtags marking the show’s 25th anniversary and tagging production house Balaji Telefilms and producer Ekta Kapoor. He did not tag Tiwari in the post.
The actors had reportedly experienced differences during their time working together on the show. In earlier interviews, both had acknowledged a period of strained relations when they stopped speaking to each other, despite continuing to work professionally.
First aired in 2001, Kasautii Zindagii Kay ran on Star Plus until 2008, enjoying a seven-year run. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the Balaji Telefilms banner, the series became one of Indian television’s most popular daily dramas.
The story centred on the turbulent relationship between Anurag and Prerna, shaped by misunderstandings, separation, sacrifice and emotional upheavals. Their on-screen romance became a defining feature of the show, with the dramatic use of Prerna’s dupatta emerging as one of its most recognisable visual motifs.
Ronit Roy later joined the cast as Rishabh Bajaj, while Urvashi Dholakia became widely recognised for playing the antagonist Komolika.
More than two decades after its debut, the show’s title track and its central love story continue to evoke nostalgia among television viewers.
