Chandigarh, March 22, 2026(Yes Punjab News)
Despite the dying declaration video of Dr. Gagandeep Singh, in which he clearly held former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, his father, and his PA responsible for the suicide, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann tried to hush up the matter by merely accepting Laljit Bhullar’s resignation as minister.
It was only after BJP State President Sunil Jakhar, along with senior BJP leaders, exerted pressure through a dharna at the concerned police station that the police registered an FIR late at night against Laljit Singh Bhullar, his father, and his PA. However, none of them has been arrested so far. This clearly establishes that Bhagwant Mann wants to shield the accused, said Rakesh Rathour, State General Secretary of BJP Punjab.
Following the gherao of CM Bhagwant Mann’s residence in Chandigarh on Sunday, the Punjab unit of the BJP decided to take forward its campaign to secure justice for the District Manager of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, Dr. Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, who allegedly died by suicide following harassment by Laljit Singh Bhullar, by organising district-wise demonstrations across Punjab on March 23.
He further stated that the manner in which cases involving former ministers Vijay Singla, Fauja Singh Sarari, and other AAP MLAs were hushed up clearly indicates that this case too may be suppressed by CM Mann. Therefore, demanding a CBI inquiry to ensure justice, the party will intensify its agitation by holding pan-Punjab, circle-level demonstrations on March 24 as well.
He also expressed serious concern over the rapidly deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, stating that incidents of broad daylight murders, rising cases of extortion, and the unchecked spread of gangsterism have created an atmosphere of fear across the state.
Rathour alleged that the state government has failed to maintain basic law and order, emboldening criminal elements and leaving both officials and common citizens feeling insecure.
