Bhagwant Mann Govt now prunes Security Cover of politicians covered under ‘Z’ and ‘Y” Security – 127 cops, 9 vehicles withdrawn

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led AAP Government in Punjab, which had earlier pruned or totally withdrawn security cover given to several political, religious and social leaders has now acted against VIPs who have got ‘Z’ and ‘Y’ Security.

Security of 8 important leaders has been pruned. 127 police personnel have been recalled and 9 vehicles ordered back.

The decision has been taken after review of threat perception to all the above politicians.

Those who have come under action include former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, former Deputy Chief Minister Om Parkash Soni, former Minister Vijay Inder Singla, former PPCC Chief Sunil Jakhar and three former MLAs Parminder Singh Pinky, Navtej Singh Cheema and Kewal Singh Dhillon.

Soni had 37 cops at his disposal and 19 have been recalled, Bhattal had 36 and 28 have been recalled, Pinky had 28 and 26 have been recalled, Singla had 22 and 18 have been recalled, Jakhar had 14 and 12 have been recalled, Navtej Cheema had 13 and 11 have been recalled while entire contingent of 11 at the disposal of Kewal Singh Dhillon has been recalled. Bhattal had three vehicles at her disposal and all have been ordered ‘back’.
