Officer on Special Duty in Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Degree college Dr. Kamlesh Singh Duggal today said that students could avail unlimited opportunities in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication for transforming their destiny.
Interacting with the students during the ongoing Spark Career Guidance Mela here today at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, the OSD said that in today’s era media has emerged as the fourth pillar of democracy, the other three being the Legislative, Executive and Judiciary.
He said that students have endless opportunities in the field of journalism and could be availed either through Bachelor degree course or the Master’s in Journalism. Dr. Duggal said that Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism was another opportunity for the students interested in pursuing journalism.
The OSD said that in the present scenario the significant of Journalism has increased manifolds as it has emerged as a key opinion maker in any democratic set up. He said that apart from career in Newspapers, news channels and Radio the students could also pursue career as Public Relations Officers in any private or public undertaking.
Dr. Duggal said that the students must pursue the career in journalism diligently as sky was the limit for them in the media hub of Jalandhar and nearby cities like Chandigarh and New Delhi.
