APSCC Rejects British MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi’s Statement on Operation Blue Star

Srinagar, January 16, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

The All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has strongly criticized Labour Party MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi’s statement in the UK House of Commons, alleging the involvement of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government in Operation Blue Star. APSCC emphasized its stance against foreign interference in India’s internal matters.

APSCC’s Stand on External Interference

In a statement, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina expressed disapproval of foreign governments and legislators commenting on India’s internal affairs. He compared the British MP’s statement to Pakistan’s occasional remarks on Indian minorities, highlighting the community’s consistent rejection of external interference.

“Indian nationals reject issues raised by foreign leaders about our nation,” said Raina. “We may have political and economic disparities, but we will address them democratically. Interference from neighboring or distant countries is unacceptable.”

Unresolved Justice for Chattisinghpora Victims

Raina reiterated the community’s long-standing demand for justice in the Chattisinghpora massacre, where 35 Sikhs were tragically killed. Despite 25 years having passed, no official probe has been conducted into the incident.

The APSCC Chairman said, “The Sikh community in Kashmir continues to seek justice for the victims of Chattisinghpora. We remain hopeful that this demand will eventually be fulfilled.”

A Call for Unity Among Minorities

Raina emphasized the importance of unity among India’s minority communities to address their challenges. He urged minorities to work within the Indian judicial system to resolve their issues instead of seeking external intervention.

The APSCC’s statement underscores its firm rejection of foreign involvement in India’s internal affairs, while advocating for democratic solutions to the country’s challenges. The demand for justice for the Chattisinghpora victims remains a top priority, with a call for national unity and reliance on domestic systems to achieve resolution.
