National level Annual Tech-festival “TechUrja-2k22” was organized by Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET) today. The event was marked with the presence of around 600 students from various colleges and schools from all over the state and they learnt about various technological innovations.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Manju Bala, Director, KCET> She while welcoming the participants and experts highlighted the importance of technical education and how the innovations and creativity are the two hallmark of success in the modern world.
The variety of technical events vizCode Warrior, Web War, IT Chart/Collage , Machine Drawing, Solid Modelling, Bridge Building, Water Purifier, Survey Hunt, Auto-Cad (3D plan),Electronic Poster Making, were organized along with general non-technical events like Quizpedia, Extempore, Situation Reaction Test, Tech-Reels, Rangoli, Chit-Chat with Biz Ideas, DSLR Photography, Dish Gardening, Pot Making, No Flame Cooking, Preparation of Mock-tails and Towel Art etc.
Col. AS Chauhan, Commanding Officer, 24 Punjab Battalion NCC was a special guest who said that tech fest is the platform for students to interact with one another and share innovative ideas. The students also presented cultural items including solo dances and Jhoomar. After that the inaugural ceremony of the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS) Chapter was held.
Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal, Associate Professor at South Asian University, New Delhi and Dr. Geeta Sikka, Associate Professor at National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar) also virtually congratulated the Director and the students for starting the chapter in the college and shared the benefits and importance of the chapter.
The Award distribution ceremony was started with Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Best Student Awards in which 12 students of various colleges of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh and Jammu were felicitated. Dr. Mohinder Sangita. Er.Bikramjit Singh (Registrar), Dr. Ripin Kohli (Dean R&C), Dr. Jugraj Singh (Deputy Dean T&P), Rajeev Sharma, Er. Sukhmeet Kaur, (Deputy Dean Academics), Mr. P. Prasant (Deputy Dean I&A), Er.JasleenKaur (HOD CSE), Er. Jaspreet Singh (HOD, ECE), Er. Sandeep Singh (HOD, ME), Dr. RuchiHanda (HOD, App. Sci.), Dr. SandeepDevgan (HOD, Agri), Ms, SukhmanjitKaur (HOD BBA/BCA), Mr. SahilArora (HOD, BHMCT), Mr. Tariq Ahmad (HOD, Paramedical) and other faculty members were present.
