Singer Amit Gupta says his latest love ballad, ‘Marke Vikhawanga’, explores the heartbreak, silence and emotional vulnerability that follow the loss of someone deeply cherished.
Describing the track as a reflection of love’s most painful side, Gupta said the song attempts to capture the emotions that linger long after a relationship ends.
“Marke Vikhawanga is a reflection of love’s most painful side, the tragedy of losing someone who meant everything,” the singer said, adding that he hoped listeners would connect with the song’s raw and personal emotions.
Gupta revealed that the track began with a feeling that gradually developed into a song. He wanted to portray a quieter form of heartbreak, focusing on the emptiness and unspoken emotions left behind when someone walks away.
He credited lyricist Yash Eshwari for giving words to emotions he struggled to express, while producer Shane Khemprai shaped the song’s contemporary sound around its melody and emotional intensity.
The singer said the team also wanted the music video to feel intimate rather than visually extravagant. Close-up shots, silences and subtle expressions were used to convey the pain of separation, vulnerability and memories that remain after love fades.
Directed by Jay, the video features Ankit Gulati, Bhawna Chikara and Amit Gupta.
Released in collaboration with Zee Music Company, ‘Marke Vikhawanga’ is available on major music streaming platforms and the music label’s official YouTube channel.
With its focus on the quieter aftermath of heartbreak, the song seeks to connect with listeners who have experienced the emotional weight of losing someone they love.
