Aman Arora refutes reports about his quitting AAP, says Amarinder, Badals should desist from rumour-mongering

Sunam, May 3, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

“I am a trusted soldier of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and can sacrifice anything howsoever precious it may be by standing rock-solid by its side for all times to come. AAP is like a foster mother which dotes on whosoever comes to its fold”, Punjab Election Campaign chief, Aman Arora said here on Friday while addressing media persons here at his residence-cum-office dispelling raging rumours of his switching sides to some other political outfit.

In an emotion-choked voice, Arora said that while election scene was picking up in the state some parties were engaged in spreading rumors of their rival party candidates just to grab eye balls, which he termed as absurd and unethical on their part.

Refuting newspaper reports about his quitting the party, AAP MLA made it categorical clear, saying “I am not made of such stuff as could change colours like a chameleon and switch sides to chase petty personal ambitions. An organization is always bigger than an individual. I am a true soldier of the party and shall remain so under all circumstances howsoever testing and try they might me.”

Mounting a veiled attack on the Badals and Captain Amarinder Singh, Arora said that those behind this political gimmickry had the sole motive to malign the AAP which, he said, had emerged as a powerful spark of hope for the people of the state post the dismal performance of these parties, which were now resorting to rumour-mongering.

He said Captain Amrinder Singh Government, which had miserably failed to live up to the peoples’ aspirations, was indulging in this kind of a propaganda to derail and distract AAP from its mission to explore new horizons of hope and happiness among the peoples’ hearts, which the ‘others’ had failed to provide during their stints in power.

Like his predecessors, the Badals, Arora said, Congress government led by Captain Amarinder Singh was resorting to such cheap political gimmicks to divert peoples’ attention from its colossal failures, be it eradication of poverty, jobs in every household, mitigating farm distress, menace of drugs and other public-centric matters. He also brought forth the massive failures of the Modi-led government at the centre.

Daring them to desisting from the ongoing vilification campaign against the AAP and its honest and upright and grassroot-level workers and its true well-wishers, they should try to hold their own flock together, stating that AAP stood on a terra-firma and would fight its own battle and vanquish, he said.

He expressed to his gratitude to the party High Command, including national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Punjab unit chief Bhagwant Mann for its reposing faith in him to shoulder such a huge responsibility. He called upon party workers on the occasion to dismiss such baseless rumours as they move around in the state on the campaign trail.

About the party’s prospects in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Arora said that people from all walks of life, especially the youth, were coming forward with their open support for the party, falling headlong the party’s Delhi model of governance where education, health services, power, water had witnessed a sea change for the better. He said he and his team had visited all the 13 Lok Sabha constituency segments and held meeting with the public and party workers there.
