AAP defers ‘Kisan, Mazdoor Vyopari Bachao’ rallies; will support farmers’ struggle: Jarnail Singh

Chandigarh, November 28, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has deferred the proposed rallies to ‘Kisan, Mazdoor, Vyopari bachao’ rallies, which were to kick off from Dec 4 at Maur Mandi in Punjab.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters in Chandigarh on Saturday, Jarnail Singh, in-charge of Punjab affairs and MLA, said that the proposed rallies had been deferred in view of the ongoing farmers’ movement.

He said the farmers of the country were holding protests in Delhi for their legitimate demands, adding that keeping in view the seriousness of the peasants’ struggle, the party had decided to postpone its three rallies, beginning December 4, 13 and 20, adding that a next date of the rallies would be announced later.

Jarnail Singh further said that a large number of party leaders, workers and volunteers were involved in the ongoing struggle of farmers in Delhi due to which the proposed rallies had to be kept on hold for now.

He added that, it was expected that the Modi government would take an urgent call on the issues and concerns of the farmers in view of the “Dilli Chalo: call ‘ given by the farmer bodies for November 26 -27, but nothing came out of the discourse due to the haughty attitude of the PM, which reflected the anti-farmer face of PM Modi.

The Sangrur MP said that the farmers of the country were the backbone of its economy, but it was unfortunate that they had been left to struggle for their rights. He added that the Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers were participating in the struggle of the farmers sans any political interests. He appealed to all the workers and leaders to participate in the farmers’ movement as much as possible.
