AAP Alleges Political Vendetta Behind ED Action Against PSIDC Officials, Accuses BJP of Misusing Central Agencies

Chandigarh, August 5, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was misusing central investigative agencies for political purposes, following the Enforcement Directorate (ED) action against officials of the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation (PSIDC).

In a statement, the party claimed that the BJP had been unsettled by what it described as growing public anger against the party, referring to the recent protest at Jantar Mantar.

AAP alleged that instead of responding to public concerns, the BJP had chosen to use central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Income Tax Department, to target political opponents.

The party further claimed that central agencies had repeatedly investigated Punjab and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann but had failed to establish any wrongdoing against him.

According to AAP, having failed to make any allegations against the Chief Minister, the BJP was now attempting to target individuals associated with him in an effort to malign the Punjab government.

The party described the action as a politically motivated attempt to defame the elected state government through what it termed baseless allegations lacking factual evidence.

AAP also alleged that the BJP was attempting to achieve through “propaganda” what it had failed to establish through investigations.

Condemning what it called “politics of vendetta and intimidation”, the party maintained that the people of Punjab and the country could see that such actions were driven by political considerations rather than evidence or the rule of law.
