LPU Emerges 1st Runner-Up at Punjab State Youth Festival 2024

Lovely Professional University (LPU) once again proved its unwavering commitment to excellence and cultural preservation by securing the 1st Runner-Up position at the Punjab State Youth Festival 2024.

Held at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann, the three-day event brought together universities from across the state to celebrate youth energy, talent, and the vibrant Punjabi culture.

LPU’s remarkable performance included 11 First Positions, 15 Second Positions, and 7 Third Positions, making it the only private university to consistently rank among the top 3 for the overall Youth Festival Trophy for the past three years.

With over 2,500 participants from 20 institutions showcasing their talents in 51 diverse cultural and heritage competitions, the festival was an extraordinary display of youth spirit and creativity. Punjab University secured the first position.

Adding to the grandeur of the festival were mesmerizing performances by celebrated artists such as Jasbir Jassi, Kanwal Grewal, and Harbhajan Maan, making the event a true cultural extravaganza. The Hon’ble Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s presence further enhanced the importance of this event in promoting youth engagement and cultural pride.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, applauded the dedicated and talented students for their exceptional performance at the Punjab State Youth Festival. Dr. Mittal emphasized that LPU encourages the holistic development of its students, urging them to carry forward this spirit of success in all their pursuits, continuing to excel as true multi-faceted achievers.

The events included Giddha, Bhangra, poetry, Ghazal, theatre, and a wide range of heritage arts competitions. Among the standout performances from LPU securing first position were Nukkad Natak, Bhaand, Shabd Gayan, Folk Group Song, Phulkari Weaving, Gudia-Patola Making, Short Film, Classical Vocal Solo, Classical Instrumental Non-Percussion, and Vaar Gayan. Students from diverse regions of India participated in these events, proudly representing the rich heritage of Punjab while celebrating inclusivity and excellence.
