The work of the long-pending Loharaka Road Project in Amritsar will start soon and people will get relief. This information was given by MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla today.
He told that the bidding process has been started by the National Highway Authority of India to complete this stalled work. MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla told that he had met the Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari and asked him to start this project.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla told that the Vehicle Underpass (VUP) was being constructed in Loharaka by the National Highway of India. However, the work faced opposition from locals, who demanded the construction of an elevated viaduct in the 180-metre section instead of the previously planned RE wall. As a result, the work was stopped.
Since the project could not proceed as per the original plan, the project was later closed and sent to the National Highways headquarters with a revised proposal for an elevated portion of 210 metres in length on pillars.
That revised proposal has now been accepted by the competent authority of NHAI, and the bidding process for the remaining work has been started.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that he was continuously trying to complete this work. For this, he had also met Minister Nitin Gadkari in June and asked to start the work soon. Even after that, correspondence was being done continuously and today he has received information to complete this work.
He said that he thanks Nitin Gadkari ji wholeheartedly for this and hopes that this project will be completed as soon as possible and people will get relief.
