Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh on Thursday said the world witnessed the speed with which the Indian Air Force (IAF) moved into combat operations during Operation Sindoor, as he highlighted operational preparedness, professional training and technological integration on the 94th Indian Air Force Day.
Air Chief Marshal Singh inspected the Air Force Day parade at Hindon Air Base in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth, Indian Navy Chief Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, senior military officials, veterans and their families were also present.
Addressing the air warriors, the IAF chief described Air Force Day as a celebration of the force’s journey, marked by commitment, courage and sacrifice.
From its establishment in 1932 with four Wapiti aircraft, he said, the IAF has evolved into a capable, network-centric and multi-domain force.
Paying homage to personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, Air Chief Marshal Singh said the changing global security environment had created new geopolitical challenges and conflicts.
He stressed that operational preparedness was the true measure of an air force’s strength, saying the ability to act quickly and confidently when required was critical.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said the world had witnessed how quickly the IAF moved into combat operations and highlighted the force’s air defence capabilities during the operation.
The IAF chief said this year’s theme, “Infallible, Impervious and Precise”, reflected the force’s strength and resolve rather than being merely a slogan.
He also underlined the importance of realistic and professional training, saying aircrew and ground personnel were being prepared to respond to a range of missions, including defending Indian airspace, disaster relief and combat operations.
Air Chief Marshal Singh said the IAF had continued strengthening its operational preparedness through initiatives such as Exercise Vayushakti, Dronathon and the ongoing multilateral air exercise Tarang Shakti.
He said these efforts were aimed at validating combat readiness while rapidly integrating niche technologies into operational frameworks.
