Singer Adnan Sami remembered his late mother, Begum Naureen Sami Khan, on her death anniversary with an emotional tribute, recalling her love, guidance and the lasting void left by her passing.
Sharing a series of photographs on Instagram, Sami said that although his mother was no longer physically present, her memories and the values she instilled in him continued to remain an integral part of his life.
“Today is one of them. It marks the day my beloved mother, Begum Naureen Sami Khan, left this world—and yet, somehow, never truly left us,” he wrote, describing her absence as a void too vast for words.
Sami also remembered his father, whom he affectionately called “Baba”, and expressed hope that his parents had found each other again. His father died in 2009, and he said the thought of his mother reuniting with him brought him immense comfort.
Reflecting on his mother’s life, Sami said she had taught the family about love, strength, patience and forgiveness not merely through words but through the way she lived and loved. He added that the stories and memories associated with her could still turn moments of grief into laughter.
The singer also spoke about moments when he instinctively wished to share his happiness with his mother, saying that losing someone deeply loved leaves a part of the heart forever searching for them.
Sami prayed for his mother’s eternal peace and for her resting place to be filled with light. He also prayed that she would be reunited with his father in the “most beautiful gardens of Jannah.”
“Until we meet again, I carry you with me—in every breath, every heartbeat and every prayer,” Sami wrote in his tribute.
