Hyderabad, October 5, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Telangana’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught a Town Planning Supervisor of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh, officials said.

The accused, Tulasiram Sunitha, posted at the GHMC’s Golconda Zone, had allegedly demanded Rs 8 lakh from a complainant in exchange for official favours, the ACB said.

According to the anti-graft agency, Sunitha allegedly accepted Rs 4 lakh to ignore speaking orders issued by the GHMC Deputy Commissioner that allowed the complainant to proceed with building construction. She allegedly also sought the money for refraining from further harassment and extending cooperation to the complainant in future.

The ACB said its officials recovered the entire tainted amount of Rs 4 lakh from Sunitha’s possession. During the operation, another Rs 2.50 lakh in unaccounted cash was also found and seized.

The agency alleged that Sunitha had improperly and dishonestly performed her official duties to obtain an undue advantage.

She is being produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. Further investigation is underway.

In a separate bribery case, the ACB trapped Ranga Reddy District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) Swarna Kumari, Health Inspector M. Srinivas and private driver Madduri Krishnaiah.

According to the ACB, Krishnaiah allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from a complainant on the instructions of the DM&HO and Health Inspector for returning the keys of a seized physiotherapy centre.

The amount was allegedly sought as an undue advantage for not taking further action against the centre for operating without a DM&HO licence and for facilitating issuance of a fresh licence.

The ACB said its officials recovered the bribe amount from Krishnaiah’s possession.

All three accused are being produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally, for judicial remand. Further investigation is underway.
