Dhuri (Sangrur), September 20, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday launched the Aam Aadmi Party’s door-to-door election campaign from his constituency Dhuri, taking the party’s four-and-a-half-year governance report directly to households and placing the “Mann Da Munafa” theme at the centre of its campaign.

Addressing residents during the outreach, Mann said the government’s initiatives had provided an annual benefit of ₹1.82 lakh to every family, according to the government’s assessment. He attributed the savings to measures including free electricity, healthcare, education and the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna.

Mann went door-to-door across Dhuri and interacted with elderly residents, women, youngsters and children. He discussed the government’s work since 2022 and heard residents’ views and experiences regarding various schemes.

Sharing photographs and snippets from the campaign on X, Mann said AAP would take its report card to every household in Punjab and seek people’s assessment on the basis of work carried out during its tenure.

“We have implemented all the guarantees we made in 2022 on the ground,” he said, adding that facilities such as free electricity, improved schools and Aam Aadmi Clinics had helped families save money.

‘Mann Da Munafa’ Focuses on Household Savings

Mann said the ₹1.82 lakh annual figure represented what families, according to the government’s assessment, were saving through various welfare and public-service initiatives.

“Every family in Punjab is today benefiting by ₹1.82 lakh annually from the initiatives rolled out by our government,” he said, urging households to calculate their monthly savings from electricity, healthcare, education and other services.

He said free electricity, healthcare, education and the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna were reducing household expenditure and allowing families to use their earnings for other needs.

Mann said the government’s approach was based on the principle that public money should be used for public welfare.

Focus on Village Development

The Chief Minister also highlighted rural development, claiming that every village was now receiving crores of rupees for development works.

He said funds were being provided to panchayats for projects involving streets, drainage, water supply, community buildings, sports grounds, street lighting and other infrastructure identified at the village level.

Mann said villages were being treated equally in the allocation of state resources, irrespective of their political affiliations.

He also linked village infrastructure development with creating better opportunities for young people within Punjab, saying improved roads, schools, healthcare facilities and other amenities could help reduce the need to migrate in search of basic services.

AAP Promises Positive Campaign

Mann said AAP’s election campaign would focus on its governance record rather than personal attacks.

“Our entire election campaign will remain positive and we will talk only about our work,” he said, adding that party workers and candidates would highlight savings delivered to families, village development and the utilisation of public funds.

He said the response from people in Dhuri reminded him of the support received by AAP during the 2022 Assembly elections.

“Just like in 2022, we are once again receiving the love and blessings of people across Punjab,” Mann said, adding that such support also carried a responsibility for the government and party leadership.

The Chief Minister described door-to-door outreach as an opportunity for elected representatives to directly present their record before voters and answer questions about their work.

Mann Targets Opposition

Mann also criticised the opposition parties in Punjab. He alleged that the Congress was preoccupied with internal differences and claimed that the Shiromani Akali Dal had lost its political presence on the ground.

He said parties that had governed Punjab for decades should answer for their record rather than question the performance of the present government.

On the issue of drugs, Mann targeted the BJP and alleged that drugs were being brought into Punjab from Gujarat. He questioned the BJP’s right to raise the issue and said those making the issue political should also answer questions about their own record.

The Chief Minister said the door-to-door campaign would now be expanded across Punjab, with AAP workers and candidates taking the government’s report card directly to households.

“We have done the work, and that is why today we are coming before the people with our heads held high,” he said.
