The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is strengthening India’s position in the global organic market by facilitating greater interaction between Indian exporters and international buyers, with the aim of expanding agricultural exports.
As part of the initiative, APEDA has facilitated the participation of more than 35 international buyers from 13 key overseas markets, including Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Mongolia and Egypt.
The buyers, representing major importers, distributors, wholesalers and retail chains, are participating in structured Buyer-Seller Meets (BSMs) with Indian exhibitors to establish business partnerships, identify new sourcing opportunities and develop long-term export collaborations, according to the Commerce Ministry.
The initiative is being undertaken alongside ‘BIOFACH INDIA 2026’, organised by the Commerce Ministry in collaboration with Nuernberg Messe India from August 6 to 8 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.
More than 200 companies are exhibiting at the event, including over 60 participants under the APEDA Pavilion.
Katikithala Srinivas, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, said the organic sector presents considerable opportunities for expanding India’s agricultural exports while creating new markets for farmers and enterprises.
He said such platforms help showcase India’s wide range of certified organic products, connect domestic producers with international buyers, strengthen the country’s presence in global organic markets and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
The APEDA Pavilion features exporters, women entrepreneurs, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), startups and organic enterprises from across the country.
Certified organic products from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and other regions are being showcased.
The display includes cereals, pulses, millets, spices, tea, coffee, fresh fruits and vegetables, processed foods, herbs, medicinal plants, oilseeds, edible oils, honey, cocoa products, natural ingredients, organic nutraceuticals and other value-added food products.
The initiative highlights India’s diverse agro-climatic strengths and growing capabilities in certified organic production while seeking greater value realisation for stakeholders across the organic supply chain.
